Chemical activation occurs by dehydrating the raw material with an inorganic acid, such as sulfuric or phosphoric acid together with zinc chloride. Dehydration and activation occur simultaneously at a lower temperature (400 - 600°C) than in the other process, where a significantly higher temperature was used. In comparison with the other, this process here gives a significantly higher yield of as much as 40%.
